  • Silicon Valley’s Next Big Idea: Untreated Drinking Water

"After his widely-maligned startup Juicero shut down in September, founder Doug Evans immediately hopped on a much more obscure health trend. While at Burning Man, he went on a 10 day cleanse drinking only “raw” water – that is, water that is unfiltered and untreated in any way."

    Job security for MDs.

It seems highly appropriate that there is a new movie about PT Barnum in the theaters now

I can dig a well in my back yard and get raw water for free. I don't have to pay $22 per gallon for it.

        From their site--

Blasting water with ozone changes it's molecular structure. Ultraviolet germicidal irradiation uses synthetic ultraviolet light, different from our natural environment UV, to kill or inactivate micro-organisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA. A hard fact to swallow, but your drinking water might be considered a genetically modified organism. GMO seeds and GMO water don't have the capacity to reproduce life. Perhaps this could influence human's capacities also.

I'm torn between thinking this is a genuis business idea ( because I know there is a market for this) and thinking this is the worst business idea ( as the company will inevitably get sued for making consumers sick).

Why don't these folks just move to third world countries? Then they can"fast" and drink all the"raw" water they want.

Since my brother works at google and since he nor any of his friends work or do anything worthwhile other than post ridiculous things and commentary on Facebook, I get the unique and often super annoying opportunity to get a daily look into the minds of those Silicon Valley giants.
