    Booze, food, and video games.

    So, I’m basically 21.

Except I’m not.  I’m 33.  And my son is being born in a month.  So, I imagine this is about to switch over to “WHATEVER THE KID WANTS”

What video games are you playing?

Members in my group can pick up as much work as we want-- you might say time is money. In that case, I'd say I spend most my fun money on taking care of our goldfish. No clue how we'll take care of my son, hopefully he's easier.

That is one thing I have not been able to pull the trigger on. We do splurge when we get there, for sure. Perhaps because we are both small/short, would have difficulty sleeping on the flight, and often we have a kid or two in tow, etc., I cannot seem to justify the additional cost. Maybe when we get older and are traveling more as a couple.

Same here. I can justify a good hotel, nice restaurant and higher end tours but somehow I can't bring myself to buy a business class or first class seat using my own money. No such qualms using points or free upgrades.

    I suspect it is because

1, I have done hundreds of trips in coach cattle class, including a 18 hour Dallas - Sydney flight and had no major issues. I have traveled in numerous non stop Newark - Delhi flights with no ill effects.

    2. The cost for the upgrade is not 150-200% but more like 400% of the coach price on many trips. Somehow my brain cannot see that as value and my body cannot stomach that.

    3. The flight is only 12-18 hours long at its maximum and at the end of it I would feel as if I flushed dollars drown the drain. Maybe I am person who likes that ice cream cone to last long rather be done in a couple of minutes.

    4. I suspect that most of my co-business class passengers got it for free using credit card points, free upgrades or paid for by their company and I will feel like a chump paying full price for it using my hard earned cash.

Maybe when arthritis and gait abnormalities catch up with me that business class seat might be worthwhile.

The Spain trip (above) was the first time we were in a different continent than both kids and first time abroad without either (and they were a bit miffed ).

What do you splurge on? Hobbies? Cars? Model trains?

What are your guilty pleasures? Don’t worry, I won’t tell WCI.

I like video games, computers, technology in general.

As a family: vacations and marginal luxuries (like upgrades on longer flights)

    Me personally: hunting, gaming, bourbon/scotch
