  • Do you intentionally try to drink x cups of water per day?

Or do you just get the fluids from the coffee, juices, sodas, etoh, fruits or veggies that you consume? Or do you just drink when you are thirsty? I used to drink juices that I juiced from veggies throughout the day. But for the last several years, I’ve reversed course and abstain from drinking anything till dinner.

When pregnant yes. When not pregnant, no.
You drink nothing until dinner? That seems crazy to me...
Love my coffee in morning (Half regular, half decaf.... so I don't feel bad drinking more!). I often have a diet soda (I know, it's bad but it is my one vice!) and then vitamin waters. Water with meals. No ETOH for me... I'd rather eat my calories!

It’s my belief that physiologically if you restrict from drinking, it directs your body into fat metabolism to create free water. It works for camels and whales. Actually likely, works for all animals, those are two examples that highlight the point.

I try to drink two large glasses of water (probably around 1 L total) in addition to whatever else I consume that day. I just feel better when I do that. Maybe it's psychosomatic, but I doubt it's going to hurt, so I might as well do it.

I naturally drink tons of water, I go through 1-2L a day when not working but can easily hit the 1L mark when working unless im pounding Monsters.

I imagine whatever amount of water generated from lipolysis is miniscule... Unless you got a hump like a camel?

I'm terrible at drinking fluid. And water especially is just kind of gross to me. So I drink crystal light. Last Jan I was trying to improve my sleep and read about how doing no sugar supposedly would improve it. So I did no sugar and tried to drink like 3 sixteen ounce bottles of water a day. All it did was make me pee 5326x a day and make me sad to not have sugar in my life.

I run 4 miles a day and take a sip or two of liquid after but I'd be surprised if I drink 16 oz of crystal light or tea in a day ( I don't drink soda or juice regularly). I'm just not a big drinker.

He's not doing it for the water. He's doing it for the lipolysis, which ceteris paribus, is likely also minuscule.

My vice is drinking several Coke Zeroes throughout the day. I'll drink water only if I'm thirsty. Some days I do and some days I don't.

For every molecule of CO2 you breath off you necessarily produce a molecule H20. Avg male breaths off 28 mols of CO2 in a day which is about 1.28kg(watch out global warming). Hence he creates 28 mols of H20 which is 500g or 1/2 liter. Not a crazy amount, but when in deficit, I believe that your body will access the necessary fat to create more water PRN. I don’t have a hump, but I do have fat stores. Everyone does except may severe anorexics or people in concentration camp situations.

                    i don't have a target

but the older i get the more i noticed when i am dehydrated, it just presents as fatigue rather than thirst. i chug a bunch of water and feel a return of energy.

It’s not the amount of lipids burned that is my priority, it’s the act of pursing a lipolytic(as opposed to a glycolytic) metabolism that I’m seeking. And thanks for the Latin lesson. That made me happy.

That’s a lot of mileage. After your runs do you notice that you have to offload a fair amount of urine proximately afterwards?

I’ve had 3 kidney stones during episodes of dehydration so I keep my urine clear to light yellow which usually takes 2L per day. Weight 179

I admit I don't know any of this biochemistry off the top of my head. Is bolded true regardless of whether you are burning fat or carbs?

I drink water when I’m thirsty. I drink beer because I enjoy it. Life is short.
