Click on the "image" button. Get the link for the gif you want to use. In Chrome you can right click on the gif and select "copy link address".

I have not tried it on a smartphone yet.

You can OK boomer me because I am a boomer and I admit to technologic illiteracy. I do not like GIFs because I find the motion distracting. It seems trendy. I would not ban them however.

Posting .gifs is a violation of forum rule # 3. The place was overrun by them and it uses up a lot of bandwidth and slows down the site. Stop posting them.

Forum participants are expected not to spam the forum. Do not post the same thread in multiple forums. While it is hard to define spam, like pornography, moderators know it when they see it. Avoid posting photos and links excessively. Do not post .gifs or videos. If the "album" feature is abused, it will be turned off.

If you want to post .gifs, go to the Facebook group. If you want to talk about speculative investments, do it here. Different things are allowed in different places for various reasons.
