A quick and dirty college calculator.  No big surprise, but confirms that my family will be among the "few" who pay full sticker price (barring scholarships).

You'd be surprised.  The highly ranked schools have been attracting an increasing proportion of wealthy kids, such that 50% pay the full sticker price at my alma matter.  They need to do this so as to make up for the high financial aid packages they give out so they can look good on the US News and World Report value rankings.  Sooner or later the wealthy will open their eyes and realize that better value is found elsewhere.  And then their whole price discrimination game implodes.
