  • More Fun With Email- Guest Post Proposals

My email is an endless source of fun. I have a guest post policy that gets emailed to anyone who emails me for the first time and is easily found on the site. Despite that, I get tons of requests, but today I hit the jackpot- 3 in a row. 5:01 am, 5:05 am, and 5:06 am.

    Hi,

    Hope you are doing well!

I wanted to get in touch with you again, to see if you would be interested in joining with Emediabuyers.com

I assume you might have taken a look at my last email but couldn’t get enough time to think over it or respond back with your queries.

So, I thought of following up on this since we have some great opportunities for you.

I would also like to mention that, this will be an ongoing process with a significant number of sponsored posts.

I am certain that our association will prove to be mutually beneficial considering our work portfolio.

    Awaiting your reply.

    Regards,

    Sarah Hill

I'm a great fan of your publication and I would love to contribute a guest post for your audience. I've recently finished an article titled "How to Handle and Pay Off Medical Debt". Would you care to review it?

Here is an article that I've recently published:

Thanks so much for reading this and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best regards,

    Samantha

What do you guys think? Would you like to hear from Sarah, Andrew, or Samantha as a guest poster?

After seeing 2 of the links to guest posts at other sites I think Samantha would have no idea of Medical debts and Andrew about anything with finance except slick marketing.

          So no to all.

No, No (read links... I can imagine how it could be made applicable here, but I'm doubtful), and No (read the link, doubtful of any real depth).

EDIT: however, I'd like to see another sample of what you receive, maybe not a long term thing, but a second round, perhaps). There may be merit, or a topic of interest. ... and potential guest posters - bring some great work, and this place would love to digest it!

Quite certain the question was a rhetorical one, but no, no, no. Newbie, this is why WCI shouldn't be questioned for cornering the physician blog market with PoF. He saves us from endless dribble like this and keeps it all easy and useful. Worth the price of admission and then some.

I respond by not responding. Here's a few recent ones:

                  Hi,

John Michaels has forwarded your email to me. I'm interested placing a permanent article with a text link to one of my bingo/casino site on your website and the link to the post will look natural. I can assure you I have a brilliant writer and the article will fit the content of your site.

I can send you sample of my post if you would like. If possible let me know your price for it.

                  Hi there!

I’m Sarah from Crazy Pet Guy. I understand you must be pretty busy so I just wanted to ask you a really quick question:

I think there is an overlap between our websites which we can leverage. If you’re interested, I would LOVE to write a guest post for your blog.

A couple of topics I have in mind are:

                  • How Often Should You Be Shampooing Your Pets

                  • Just How Much Exercise Does Your Pet Need

                  • 5 Reasons You Are Having Trouble Training Your Pet

However I am also open to any other ideas you might have.

Thank you for taking the time to read this far. If you are too busy to respond, I completely understand. If not however, I'd really love to write a killer guest post for you, so let me know if you are interested

                  Regards,

                  Sarah

                    I got another one today:

I am looking to build my writing portfolio and I’d love to contribute a piece to your blog for free. I am just looking to build my byline.

My name is Lauren Davidson. I am a currently a Senior at the University of Pennsylvania double majoring in Communications and English.

Specifically, I’d love to contribute a piece with a personal finance theme and a lifestyle tone.

Would you be willing to let me contribute a post to your blog? It would go a long way for me. I am trying to start a freelance writing side hustle…. I have student debt and it hurts. But in order for me to get started, I need some example works for my website.

Here is my website btw: http://laurdavidson.com

A byline on your blog would mean a lot for me. I’d even be willing to link to your blog from the portfolio section on my site. What do you think?

                    Best,
                    Lauren Davidson

They all get my autoreply email (like anyone else who emails me) which looks like this:
Thank you for emailing me at The White Coat Investor. Over the years my email burden has grown from sparse to manageable to nuts. I still make an effort to get back to any reader who emails me within a week, but you may be able to get speedier service in one of the following ways.

                    1) If you are interested in advertising on the site or obtaining more information about physician mortgage loans, email [email protected]

                    2) If you are interested in hiring me to speak to your group, media inquiries, or purchasing copies of The White Coat Investor:A Doctor's Guide to Personal Finance and Investing at a special bulk rate, email [email protected]

                    3) If you are interested in submitting a guest post, read the guest post policy (https://www.whitecoatinvestor.com/contact/guest-post-policy/) first. If you have followed directions, I'll get back to you within a few days. If you haven't, you'll never hear from me.

                    4) If you are looking for personal advice on your situation, I will try to get back to you within a week, but you may get faster advice (and more opinions) by posting your question on the forum. (https://www.whitecoatinvestor.com/forums/)

                    5) If you haven't yet signed up for the FREE monthly newsletter, you may do so at this URL: https://www.whitecoatinvestor.com/free-monthly-newsletter/

                    6) Be sure to also sign up for the email feed in order to get the regular blog posts three times a week in your email box at this URL: http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheWhiteCoatInvestor/

                    7) Finally, if you haven't yet bought The White Coat Investor: A Doctor's Guide to Personal Finance and Investing, you can do so at this link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0991433106/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=0991433106&linkCode=as2&tag=whicoainv-20&linkId=N7X4R6RSPYN3JQST

Thank you for assisting me in my mission to help high income professionals get a "fair shake" on Wall Street.

What strikes me throughout her email is that she wants you to post a piece to help her rather than, well, the obvious... Surely most if not all of these emails are broadcast to all bloggers in the net to see what will stick. I bet you $10 there are email lists of bloggers for sale.

Jim, I actually enjoyed the colored diamond blog linked on your guest post policy.  I love that kind of stuff--it always bums me out when alternative investing books only have a few sentences on that or a paragraph on wine or cars (and nothing on whisky!!!).  With your editorial comments thrown in, I feel that it brings real value.  With the explosion in your readership in the four years since, I bet the comments would be even more fruitful today.

But I can also see how you took heat for it.  Can't please everybody all the time.

                              Hi,

How are you ? This is Jenny. I came across different articles in your blog which seem to be quite interesting.

I was wondering if you would entertain another article on similar topics as I would really like to write one as a guest author. I have the following content idea in mind for whitecoatinvestor.com audience.

                              Title :
Physician's Assistance: Top Smartphone Apps for Busy Doctors

                              Excerpt:

On Apple and Android devices, there are over two million apps available, so it’s not a surprise that quite a few of these are dedicated to health care, and physicians, in particular. As technology advances, we’re all looking for ways we can streamline our processes and manage our time more effectively. And with such busy work schedules, physicians can benefit from these apps more than most.

What do you think of it? I guarantee you that the piece itself will not be self-promotional, my focus will be on crafting a blog post that your audience will find valuable and enjoyable to read. Please let me know if there are any specific guidelines/requirements I must adhere to as well.

                              Regards,
                              Jenny.
