First time I am hearing that a RAV4 is a mom car. I have only heard of minivans being soccer mom / mom with multiple kids vehicle and the new VW Beetle being a chick car ( I have only seen one man driving the Beetle and he looked positively miserable).

As I've said, I see you are a person of culture as well.

My wife had one of the previous models and I drove it plenty. It was actually a reasonably nice driving car not terribly fast of course. I did get a lot of looks

Personally doubt I would ever go for a super car even if I were super rich. I like old cars

I have a 1953 Chevy in all original condition that I get a lot of joy from driving. It’s slow as ************************ with a 90 hp motor (car weighs nearly 4,000lbs, lol) with a 2 speed automatic transmission. Still has the original factory installed seat covers! The original upholstery has never seen the light of day. But it’s a real head turner. Closest thing to a time machine I’ll ever own.

If I were to get my “dream” car though it would be a 1949 Cadillac Coupe Deville (prefer one in original condition). There’s one on ebay now that I’m tempted to go for, but I’d have to sell the Chevy and spend some extra dough on top of that.

The original beetle was a fun car and was quite popular in England when i lived there in the eighties. I might have driven it once or twice. That and the min-cooper were great cars for the narrow roads, and used by both sexes.

But the new Beetle somehow has been associated with young women drivers. I don't know if that makes men not wanting to drive it even though it might be a nice car to drive.

Agreed. RAV4 is not a soccer mom car. It’s definitely a car for a single 50-year old lady with 6 cats.
