Do you make left turns from the left turn lane? What if your weight doesn't activate it on a empty road. Do you still make the bike box left turn or go through the light?

I'm slowly gaining experience, but with more confidence I am now doing this. I have a front headlight and a rear red blinky light plus I'm usually dress in some obnoxiously bright cycling jersey...I feel like people give me plenty of room. But it's embarrassing when you can't clip back into your pedals in the middle of an intersection

So I have not worn a bicycle helmet since I was a kid. But if I am going to commute on the road it is likely a good idea. Also good modeling for my own kids. Any suggestions? Quick search they look highly variable in price and some are rather expensive. Anything I should be looking for?

I bought a generic on from local sporting store for my son. His head grew big, so I gave him my 10 yr adult helmet and took his. Didn't do any research. Wanted to avoid the paradox of choice trap etc...

I bought a lightweight bright yellow helmet Bontrager for $150 at a bike store where I could actually try on helmets. REI is closed unfortunately for in-store shopping. Other people on Rad power bike fb group recommended: Sena R1 helmet with bluetooth. I would have liked that technology to chat with my husband when we ride long distance to the beach but I couldn't try on the helmet and I needed a helmet asap. I personally like the bright helmets for better visibility.

I'm partial to helmets from Specialized. Have been using them for years now and always comfy, breath well, and don't look horrible (to me). Prices run a decent range, but even the inexpensive models are solid.

You can get an adequate one by Bell at Walmart in that price range.

What does the $150 helmet have that the $25 doesn't?

Protection, comfort, adjustable. At least that’s what google said.

Better ventilation, lower weight, aerodynamics, enhanced fit systems, and nicer designs.

My more expensive helmet is much more comfortable than my cheap one. Not noticeable on short rides but very noticeable on long rides. Both will protect your noggin but the cheap one hurt my head after a while.

I mean I haven't in 20 years but now that I have a kid watching me I feel like I should.
