After talking it over with my wife we decided that we would test them because it would if positive shorten their quarantine. However if negative it really does not help us at all.

I don't know how useful antibody testing would be now that I am sick with it and have nothing to compare it to.

That's what I thought too (was the case when we had to quarantine) but CDC website now says there's the option for stopping quarantine "After day 7 after receiving a negative test result." FWIW https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...uarantine.html

Thank you for the information. I have to ask the New York State people what their interpretation of this would be. Hopefully I can get out a little sooner than I previously thought.

The barbecue and sour cream /onion flavors of Pringles taste real good. Yummy. :-)

Sorry to hear, Lordosis. Get well soon. My kids are in daycare too and after multiple quarantine scares, it seems a matter of time before they may the Delta and bring it home..

You said you hope your wife "does get it." Are you saying you hope she gets infected so she gets it over with, or am I misinterpreting what you said?

'Need' is very subjective. All those visitors to Disneyworld -- vast majority flew on a plane - wore a mask the whole time. They certainly don't 'need' to visit. (I do,, but I admit I have a Disney addiction). Vast majority of people will comply with rules when they are clear, consistent, and ubiquitous to entire population.

Wife now has 6 non vax-covid patients on her team. All overweight, 1 is seventy and the rest all under 45. The wife of one of the patients doesn't want the vaccine and says he's fine(umm, he's in the hospital on high flow 02) and she's fine. They are enjoying this hospitalvacation lying/sitting there eating can after can of pringles. All the adjacent teams are now starting to load up also. Insanity.

We are also seeing overweight young, unvaccinated people doing poorly. Admitted someone in their 20s with Covid hypoxia last night. Saw three vaccinated patients with Covid, one admitted. Another provider admitted a youngish vaccinated patient during the shift, who was hypoxic/febrile after going to a gathering… Covid positive. Not sure how many COVIDs I saw last night, maybe 15. Admitted 3.

When I was a kid and the rare occasion where my mother would buy a can, I would take the can and eat the whole can(save 3-4 chips+crumbs) while hiding in the pantry.
