I think most will hold the line.

But I'll give the 75 yo doc with obesity and HTN a pass if they want to get out of dodge.

They can to their part -- Telehealth in so many ways from general medicine to simply a calming voice/face. So many things more than running for the Hamptons

But like i said - the more likely folk are the younger ones

The last place I would want to be right now is on an island with millions of people. Moving to The Hamptons is marginally better but I'm afraid they're going to come up state. Hopefully I'm far enough up state that they don't bother me.

In nyc. I’m diagnostic specialist so not front line or patient facing in daily role. I’m fully prepared to manage patients on wards if necessary. I actually feel a little bad knowing that colleagues are out there and I’m mostly working from home. Family is out of state so I don’t have those types of worries.

I've been absolutely lit up this week by locums recruiters. I suspect this just means that the usual locums players are staying away from jobs. I hope it's not that hospitals are experiencing staff physicians going AWOL.

Locums travel will shut down as airlines are grounded. Wonder if there will be an exception for physicians to travel to areas of need? But airlines won’t be able to stay in operation for only a few passengers per flight, what then?

rich people with confirmed COVID going to the hamptons to hide out. makes no sense. and those hospitals out there are NOT equipped in the off season for a wave of patients. in my mind, pure greed/narcissism on their part- youre already sick, stay home! and taking up supplies for the hard workers who live there all year round.

I think you could make an argument that it would be safer to be in Lombardy than NYC right now. Both professionally and personally.
