  • What else are you doing?

You've maxed your 401k, 403b, 457, backdoor roth, emergency fund, HSA, 529...  You are paying down loans at a maximum rate.  You've embraced some level of frugality.  You've replaced all of the high use light bulbs in your home with LEDs or CFLs.  The A/C is set at an uncomfortably warm temperature.  You've convinced your significant other that single ply is just as good as double.

So what else do you do with your time?  I think it can get a little frustrating to focus on finances too much.

I'm currently finding new ways to entertain a 2.5 year old girl.  Days at the zoo.  Gymnastics (really just running around). Sidewalk chalk. Drinking pretend coffee with pretend chocolate in it.

2 weeks ago I actually played a round of golf under 100!

Took a trip to Glacier National Park in July.

In the last year I've managed to make it maybe half way into a play thru of Fallout 4 as well...

After leaving the office? Work out, visit 4 grandkids, cook, feed the animals on farm, listen to Audible, play with our Aussie, answer questions on WCI, be wifely. No TV.

Write, run, pull kids' loose teeth, rehab my shoulder, cook, read to boys, read for myself, brew beer, watch football, travel, camp, hike, bike, movie in the home theater, drink beer with wife in hot tub, landscaping, wipe with 2-ply, and dream about all the other things I'll do with my time when I retire.

Yesterday, I ran a 10-mile trail race. Very muddy due to recent heavy rain, but lots of fun.

I love to plan trips and travel. In the last twelve months, I have visited, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon-South Rim, Sedona* (AZ), San Diego (CA), Joshua Tree National Park*, Tuscany (Italy), Rome*, Naples/Pompeii*, Dallas (TX), Saugatuck (MI), Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakefront*, Interlochen (MI), Memphis (TN), Charleston* (SC), Greenville* (SC), Denver (CO), Boulder (CO), Grand Lake* (CO), and Rocky Mountain National Park. (Places with * are those that I have never before visited.)

Travel/food is my financial vice. So far this year - 2 trips to europe, one trip to the west coast. We cook a lot and like to have friends over for small dinner parties.

Chasing my 7y/o, 4y/o, 2y/o, or 7mo old;  a few weeks ago we splinted my chicken's broken leg to no avail but turns out she can now hop vs half fly to get around on one leg; pick up pieces of cardboard my pup has chewed up; keep our older dog away from the barn cats; we bought a travel trailer this summer to camp; our chicken/goat house is done but the area is still only goat fenced on 2 of 4 sides (work in progress, it'll be next spring before it gets done); we make almost all our meals at home so that's a time commitment; ......  Daily show on week nights, Naked and Afraid on sundays if the season is right.

Drcolleen goats are very good escape artists?  We had a free ranger for several years.
