Oh, dear, I'm truly sorry, that was not my intent. I suppose as I grow older, it is easier to seize the day, same as @WealthyDoc - and also the psalmist:

"This is the day which the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it." Ps 118:24

Life is short.

It is only depressing for those who sacrificed their past life to get to the present life and did not enjoy the process.  It is a nice reminder to cherish the moment.  Enjoy the journey and don't focus on the destination.  This jives with my current thinking.  I don't want to retire since I love what I do every day even though financially I could.

Where are you on your journey? Is your life about the destination or the trip? Michael Kitces closed his weekend newsletter with a link to this thought-provoking video that is very relevant to many of the discussions that circulate on this forum.

It also brought the old classic, The Station by Robert Hastings, to mind.

Hope this gives encouragement to anyone out there who can use it.
