  • Thrive Wise Accountant opinions

Hello, Has anyone used Thrive Wise tax accounting? They seem like a good company, but I am a little hesitant after I found out the last person I liked had been disbarred. Thanks for your help!

Know nothing about them. Disbarment happens to attorneys - were you were with a tax attorney? CPAs just lose their licenses and there can be a variety of reasons, from not keeping up with CPE (temporary) to committing fraud and other interesting acts. Not easy to lose your license, btw, as I have turned in a flagrant violator and there was squat response. Client(s) most likely have to file suit.

    Good luck!

Well, that is disappointing. That is, one would hope that the professional standards body would take action. If not, it undermines faith in the profession. Personally, I would suggest publishing annual data on number of reports and disciplinary action.

Likely it’s best not to blame the firm, rather the individual.

As far as further policing, state boards (legal, medical, accounting) are procedural not judgmental. A conviction or judgement can result in sanctions.

I have the same question about Thrive Wise...doesn't seem like anyone in WCI has posted about them- good or bad. Hopefully someone can post about their experience, as I am thinking of using them as well.

            Maybe lack of experience?

Checking in. Troy is the owner at Thrive Wise. I have been very happy with his professionalism. He is conservative and cautious and conscientious. Hope that helps.
