Backdoor Roth triggering audits?

My MD friend was told by her financial advisor not to do backdoor Roths because it will trigger an audit by the IRS....

What other junk have you guys heard of financial advisors saying???

Before I fired my Larson Financial advisor he told me I should purchase a VUL policy from him instead of aggressively paying off almost $250k in student loans. Oh, and he also said he didn't know anything about student loan refinancing options. Pretty bad for a firm that is supposed to specialize in physicians, huh?

I don't know anyone who has been audited primarily based on that issue.

Isn't happening. Your friend should ask her FA for specifics and not let the FA get a pass on what (s)he heard someone else say at a conference.
