I'm a Canadian citizen. I moved down to the US in 2007 for medical school on an F1 student visa. I then transitioned to an H1B visa and subsequently a green card during training (4 years of residency, 1 of fellowship). I've been an attending for almost two years now. Assuming I remain in the US until retirement, am I eligible for the social security benefit that I'm contributing to via my taxes? Thanks!

You should go to:
https://www.ssa.gov/myaccount
and check your benefits! It's free and should be done periodically (like https://www.annualcreditreport.com).
It's actually a pretty easy quick process, and a great website.
