  • Solo 401k with K1 Income

My husband invested in a surgery center this year. Does having that K1 income (from distributions) mean he can open a solo 401k?

Only earned income can go into a solo 401(k). So that surgery center has to pay him some kind of earned income. I have K-1s where the income is earned and K-1s where it is not.
