I check my NW monthly, come ************************ or high water. I am down about 10% YTD. Obviously, stocks are down more, and even bonds are down quite a bit. Our NW has been buoyed by current income and periodic regular investing, a large cash position, some illiquid, alternative investments, and our bonuses that pay in March.

I look. Vanguard makes it easy. I just open the app when I think about it. Though, I can just glance at the WSJ app and guesstimate the fluctuation in my account from the market move that day. The trick is having the discipline not to do anything about it.

Yes its a good trick. I choose not to touch the hot stove. It hurts!
