    Hi
I spent 2500$ for CME and when I submitted the receipts I received 1700$ Accounting service of my hospital send me paystub for this money
federal taxes 550 and state tax 165 and Medicare 58.75
I told them I have already paid taxes on the money that I have paid for CME.
I was advised “ CME money is taxable “I don’t understand how CME reimbursement is taxable? I already paid taxes on the money that I paid for my CME again I have to pay taxes on the reimbursement? How many times I have to pay taxes? How should I approach this situation. According is adamant that they are right?

This shouldn't be taxable. They need to treat this like an accountable reimbursement plan. By providing documentation for the expense they can treat the payment to you as tax-free.

It saves the hospital money to do this.

Tell them to Google "Accountable Reimbursement Plan".

Do you get reimbursed on the sales tax for what you buy?

I paid for my boards and in my contract registration fees for board exam is considered CME money. So I didn’t pay taxes .
