    Best roth investment types

    What would be the best 3 investment types to place in a Roth IRA or Roth 401k?

    situation: 50 yo retiring doc with 1.5m in roth 401k
    7m in taxable account 1.5m in universal life insurance. 200k in hsa.

      Oy.

      To answer your question, Roth money should be spent last. So you want the riskiest assets in there. REITs and small/mid cap funds, and perhaps emerging markets

          As I’m sure you know, you haven’t provided nearly enough information for anyone to give you a good answer. But how’s you end up with 1.5M in Roth 401k? What’s in your tax-deferred?

              The tax deferred only has $500k currently in vti

              the Roth was just rolled to vanguard into a Roth IRA.
              yes my question is what class of investment makes the most sense.

              Goal: 40 years of income approx 220k/ year today’s money
              and would love to leave legacy money for kids and our charities of choice

                For tax-free (Roth) the one with the highest expected rate of return. Usually an equity fund like VTI.

                For tax-deferred (not Roth) REITs and bonds so you can defer the tax on the interest/income.
