I recently found out (from WCI!) that one can have a 457 plan and still have another 18k contributed to the solo401k. Others were telling me no, but you can. So hopefully you can explore other options as well, assuming you have some 1099 income too.

The $18k limit is per year per ALL 457b plans, per individual...doesn't affect your employee contribution limits towards 403b or 401k, though.

457B Plans
<p style="text-align: center;">Just wondering - if 457B plans are attributed to the employer: if one switches jobs mid way in the year can you contribute 18K to each of the 457B's with the different employers? Or is it subject to the 18K max per individual regardless of number of employers?</p>Tags: None
