  • Converting employee solo 401k contribution to Roth 401k?

    Came across this article http://epmonthly.com/article/investing-in-a-solo-401k/

Basically, take your 17k employee contribution to the solo 401k and turn it into a Roth 401k, with the goal of later rolling it into a Roth IRA. Save taxes.

Curious to know your thoughts, if anyone has done this, or has a recommendation of solo401k providers that support this.

I guess the question is, why should you pay at your current tax rate into a Roth when you can defer until you are likely in a lower tax bracket?  Also the article is a few years old, the employee contribution limit is now $18k.
