I use them because my employer will deposit directly to them. I'm not thrilled with the investment options so I've considered switching. The fees are low enough that I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. I just put all the money in the one Vanguard fund they have (500 fund) and stay balanced with other accounts.
A quick google search shows 13 admiral Vanguard funds available in Optum HSA (?all may not be available in your pool), including TSM, S&P500, MCB, SCB, Extended Market, REIT, Wellington, LifeStargey Growth, & Health Care. Looks like one of the best HSAs for investment choices to me.
