  • Self directed IRA seem to have high maintenance fees

Between SDR maintenance fees, along with property management fees, it seems to me like, someone needs at least a 20% annual ROI in order to just break even. So in the best of times that seems viable. In my 70 years of life, I've been through a lot of down real estate markets. People who paid cash for their real estate investments weathered the storms fine. It is the investors that were highly leveraged who went bankrupt. I would be interested in hearing others opinion of this type of investing with their IRA money.
