  • DIY post: How to set up an entity

Just uploaded an article to our blog on how to set up your own entity. These tips are for those of you fresh out of training going into 1099 work or with side gig who wonder if you need to hire a lawyer (sometimes) or if you can DIY to set up your business. I suppose it will be helpful to you if you are going from W2 to opening a practice, but I wouldn't recommend DIY if you are doing anything other than setting up an entity for your own 1099 work. Iow, if you have partner(s) or employees other than yourself, you need professional help.

It is a companion piece to our article, What Business Entity Should I Choose?

Next week, I'll be posting an article explaining in more detail when to use S-corps and how the tax savings really work.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
