  • FLP signed off twice already only to come back. Admit it -- WCI is addictive Why? Despite the common thread of financial goals, we represent a WIDE range of opinions, come from a varied background and experiences. Yet most conversations remain remarkably civil and even keeled--much more than the average physician lounge I bet.

I oftentimes are very much at odds with FLP and find his antics and most recent attempt of respect and humility somewhat hallow given prior attitudes -- but viewpoints can evolve. He absolutely has a place here and I welcome his input as well as anyone else's. We are better off with a vibrant exchange than an echo chamber.

OP - I don't believe you should premptively strike with the notice. There is a chance of disclosure, but your future job still brings you to this hospital it seems per prior responses so privileges still are in play here. I don't know if a notice and flipping off the meeting is advisable with that in consideration.

I don't get this at all. He is going to have to give notice at some point. If giving notice is going to sour the relationship, then there is no escaping that. You think that if he gives notice after the meeting it's going to be substantially better for him? Why?

He also, supposedly, has no idea what the meeting is about. There is nothing "pre-emptive" about it. Especially since OP was looking for a job long before he even heard about the meeting.

He just tells them an amazing opportunity came up, he struggled with the decision, but in the end they gave him such favorable terms that he couldn't refuse. Throw in some stuff about how he will do everything he can to ensure a smooth transition and he's fine (or at least as fine as he is going to be). The meeting is not acknowledged or mentioned.

If they still decide to have it, then of course he should not blow it off. But there is a great chance they will just drop it.

Preemptive sure - taking action before a perceived threat is realized. This is an option - if it were availed to reasonable people. My sense is that this administration isn't this.

If they're not reasonable, then it makes no sense that delaying giving notice will help him in any way.

          • FLP, if you are trying to get the mods to deactivate your account you just took cancel culture to a new level. Didn’t think that was possible, but nothing surprises me these days.

BTW, why did Entrepreneur MD get booted?

i am really curious about this too.

he was far from my favorite regular and i think he was frankly dishonest most of the time but i never saw anything that was even a TOS violation that i can remember?

i did at times suspect that he was a sock puppet with some kind of weird prosperity Gospel agenda, so if he did get banned by mods my guess would be that it was for misinformation about returns and investment strategies.

as an example: i think the mods would consider banning someone who constantly posted about how we were all dumb and 100% BTC was the only portfolio because that is so out of line with the mission of the WCI empire.

as far as FLP goes, i enjoy most of his posts but it does sound like he benefits from periodic breaks and now might be a good time to take them.

ENTDoc it looks like the MPMD vs. ENTDoc rivalry is now the #1 WCIF rivalry once again!! congrats for being back on top old buddy! i already sent you an AOC 2024 shirt as a congratulations gift.

OP said they were still negotiating terms for new position. Contract is not in hand. Immediate action probably requires some concessions, to quickly get a signed contract. And I'm sure we agree OP should have a signed contract before giving notice with current position. So that's at least one downside.

Giving notice sooner is the more aggressive approach. And that may be the right move. I just don't see it as cut and dry.

I think one of the mods just got tired of him. As annoying as he was I have expressed my opinion that I don’t agree with such a move. For a number of reasons.

Perhaps because he sent forum participants threatening PMs? Just a theory.

                    • EMD was banned for multiple violations.
Seems like this thread has run its course.

                      gl to the OP.
