Hello,
We are a large group of MD's (>100) with about 40 ACP's. We have 6 contracts and moving toward 7 this year. Up to this point we've had our CEO and COO (frankly all board positions) filled by clinical staff (elected from our group). We are 100% democratic, but to a fault (can't seem to vote on anything without a ton of time invested).
We're looking to restructure the group to become a representative democratic process, and hire out a non-medical CEO and/or COO.
Do any of you have experience with a non-medical CEO/COO? if so, how were they paid? Did they answer to the board? How did you "find" them, and hire? Any benefits (or detriments) compared to a medical CEO/COO?
Thank you for any insight!
