Never thought of it that way. I'm actually not a physician. Heck, I'm not even in the medical field at all!

If you're not a physician than the side gigs/hustles are possibly more worth it. The rest of the advice/comments hold true to any person though. It just comes down to how much extra you would bring in at your primary job vs the projected income of your side job. For most high income professionals, the training and experience favors just working more at your primary job.

Judging by your avatar, I’d suggest making weight loss your second job.

Not sure how that is possible. My doctors always says I'm the "picture of perfect health" when he does my annual checkup. The staff at the front desk also refer to me as "Big Sexy".

Anyways, I found some part time work at a nearby horse farm. Early in the mornings on a few days a week doing general maintenance. Not getting rich from it, but some extra cash.

People always say find more work at your current physician job - what if that is impossible? My specialty cannot just pick up extra shifts on weekends or nights if I wanted extra cash. There are no extra shifts the hours and the work are set. I'd have to find a better paying locums job (per hour or day), then use my vacation time to get days off and potentially travel to that area. Probably not worth it.

I honestly feel I work hard enough, why would I want to work more ? I keep trying to work less, but patients keep getting sick.

I know lots of people working into their 70s not because they need to, but because they enjoy it. Nothing wrong with keeping yourself busy.
