        Hello

So I got my finance to do a prenup. I guess it is never too late to do one of these agreements
She agreed to keep premarital assets separate
What can I do as far as documentation to keep the accounts separate.
This is what I came up with so far

        1) Keep the accounts in your name
        2) Do not contribute to those accounts
        3) Allow for passive management only no active management
        4) Collect statements from those accounts each year (none of them generate tax, roth IRA and roth 401k and brokerage account with brk.b)
        5) I am a fan of buy and hold for life.
        6) I plan to take the assets at age 59.5 out and put into a trust or will for another family member.

        My questions are

Do I need any special notary or gold medallion signature to prove the assets and holdings had no active management?

I plan to open another retirement account with the spouse as I am switching jobs.

        Anything else you would recommend?

Why do you think active management would matter?

I’m probably missing something and am not anti prenup at all but #6 seems unusual unless you are older and there are children from previous marriage. At some point in time doesn’t everything kind of fall into the community property bucket?

I love how everything in family law is an art and highly subjective and not a science ( or objective)

The judges seem to favor “fine arts”. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Or “as ugly as a modern art piece “ to loosely quote full metal jacket
