A little simplistic but a lot of helpful basic information. Naturally, I strongly disagree with the portfolio suggestions along with the "Lazy Portfolios" with only 3 years of data. They left off step 6: write a book that people will buy, start a popular blog, and promote the heck out of them.My passion is protecting clients and others from predatory and ignorant advisors 270-247-6087 for CPA clients (we are Flat Fee for both CPA & Fee-Only Financial Planning)

I would also add that Pete aka MMM and his wife quit their full time jobs at 30, and didn't start the blog until 5 years later.
I have a low revenue blog and no book, and I can easily counter any eventual "You can only do this because of the blog" talk with the fact that I was financially independent before I started mine.
I like the article. Most people don't find our websites on their own. It takes a mainstream media article to pique their interest. A select few will decide to delve further and begin their adventure down the rabbit hole... that was me about 18 to 20 months ago. I believe it was this Marketwatch article on MMM that introduced me to the whole FIRE concept, a moment I've since labeled Inception.Comment
