  • Skiing & WCI Conference

I'm interested to learn what other conference attendees are planning for skiing and hoping to find skiing buddies.

I enjoy skiing and spend most weekends with my family skiing at Mt. Hood. This will be an exciting opportunity to ski some advanced terrain and make a friend or two.

Hoping to find some other friendly faces to ski with, as I enjoy skiing much more when doing it with others. I'm open to ski any of the neighboring resorts.

I'm booked at the conference hotel from February 27 to March 6, though not planning to keep the reservation for the whole time. I'm thinking will either keep the extended portion at the start or end.

I'm in town though not going to the conference.  Unfortunately I have to work the whole time, though if my schedule is good I might try to make it out.

I'd probably be considered an advanced skier, and I much prefer skiing in the four Big/Little Cottonwood resorts over Park City.  The snow is better, though still pretty bad this year.

I took up skiing as an adult, intermediate at best, and plan to ski over at Deer Valley, where the trails are nicely groomed, the runs are well-marked and the food is excellent.

There is an expression I once heard, "God skis at Alta but has lunch at Deer Valley." I plan to dine with Him.

You should definitely swing by the hotel or wherever we might be hanging out in the evening. I will PM you.

We will be there 2/26 to 3/4, and plan to ski most of those days. Intermediate level skiers, but it's been a while since we skied decent terrain, so we are probably out of shape.

Meeting up with other conference attendees on the slopes would be great.

If there is still any room left at the table after God and Vagabond are seated, then lunch at Deer Valley sounds great too.

God said he would save you the last serving of the turkey chili. Vagabond could not promise that there would be any beer left when he finished lunch, so you better join him.

I will be on the bunny slopes. I told WCI I’ll have the ambulance drop me at the hotel in time to be on the blogger panel

I’m with Rogue. Haven’t skied since I was 7. Going to try to pick it up again. Hopefully ambulance fits 2.

Just have the ski patrol drag you over to the hotel. There will be hundreds of docs there.

I'm still trying to figure out my ski plans for the two days. They'll be fairly short days for me, about 4 hours including lunch. I've been thinking about trying to do some sort of a fundraiser for the scholarship out of it- "ski with me for a $100 donation to the scholarship" or something like that. Not sure how that would work with matching up ski abilities though. I guess if people really aren't very good I could switch to my snowboard like I do when I ride with my kids!

I'd love to ski with fellow docs and attendees! Intermediate or advanced - I'm flexible either is OK.

Will be skiing Park City all day 3/1. Other days any resort.

POF, Maybe we need a skiing spreadsheet too?

For those of not attending I would like to request you share some pics for the rest of us.  Especially when my vertical drop here in NE Ohio is about 300 feet and runs are usually more like carving through ice than skiing.

Hit me up. Which resort are you planning to ski?

I did this pre-season to get me ready for skiing: http://mtntactical.com/exercises/mnt110-leg-blaster/. Highly recommend.

I'm in for $100 to the scholarship. Intermediate/advanced level.

Get the kids skiing more! I've taken my son up to the hill almost every weekend since he was 2. Now he is 8 and we don't need to wait for him - except when he goes in the trees or the park. Daughter isn't far behind at 6.
