This is a stretch. Better advice is to assume personal responsibility for your money. Get educated and make a plan before you see an advisor. If you prefer an advisor, and many do, ensure that you understand how they are making money. Are you paying for advice? Fine, what’s the cost? Are you being sold a product? Fine. Why is it better than the low cost alternative (whole life versus term, structured investments versus low cost index fund, etc).
