  • Appreciating @spiritrider

Just a quick shout out to thank spiritrider for sharing so much knowledge and wisdom over the years.

On another thread, a poster started deprecating spiritrider after overreacting to a gentle confrontation that was, in my view, quite justified. I am sending kudos and sharing appreciation for spiritrider for the consistent, deep, and meaningful contributions to the community on this forum.

Anyone that disparages spiritrider should get permabanned in my book.

WCI was correct to edit my last post in that thread. My last comment was unnecessarily snarky to a newer member.

as said, your comments are always well appreciated. I always stop to read your comments, even if I am just scrolling through posts .

Curious: what’s your primary profession? May be other members already know .
are you a physician ? CPA?

Hey now, you know there’s no place for admitting your wrong on the internet.

I second this sentiment. Also kudos to White.Beard.Doc as well. Your posts are equally insightful

                Don’t moderators actually ban people?
However, spiritrider has probably given out more cost/benefit expertise than any other source on the internet. The value of the breadth and depth of the tax code, the complexity as well as how to “fix” things is beyond the scope of the vast majority of “specialists” (read that as attorneys and CPA’s). All for free. Many have probably been save substantial amounts and he never fails to provide references to the relevant tax code sections. WCI might consider something like a HOF or GOAT or whatever.
I find it more like a work of art, he makes it look so easy, step 1 ,step 2, step 3. A rare talent with a dash of common sense thrown in.
Maybe a trophy, the Spirit Rider Award presented at WCICON. Greenblazer and dinner.
Full disclosure: I am not a writer, just an admirer.

The comment calling spiritrider a troll on the other thread made me laugh. I pictured a wise old troll with a giant brain, carrying around a massive book of all the regulations to refer to on the rare occasion the facts weren’t readily accessible. The best kind of troll, the helpful knowledgeable factual kind.

Can someone post a link to the thread? I missed that one, haven’t been too diligent during tax season.

Upvote any accolades to spiritrider x 100. I doubt you’re going to be able to get him to share personal info beyond what he already has shared in responses, but would love for him to prove me wrong.

EDIT: Never mind, I just found it

Spiritrider is a beacon in an inscrutable swamp of IRS mumbo-jumbo.

I also want to appreciate Spiritrider. I also found the thread.
I had not read that thread until this one popped up. I selectively read threads. I assume that is what other moderators do. Some threads I read because the topic is of interest to me. Some I read because the poster who starts the thread is interesting to me. Some threads I read because posters who are of interest to me are posting in it.
Some threads I do not read at all.

I feel super smart sometimes if I can understand spiritrider’s answer. Some real head scratchers for me. Let alone pretending I know the answer.

Funny, I thought about posting something similar (not knowing there was a confrontation). I just wanted to share my appreciation for all the information from spiritrider over the years. I've learned a lot!
