  • Do you want to keep the "comment" feature?

The forum has a feature called "comment" where you can leave a comment inside the actual post written by someone else (except for the first post in a thread/topic). The comment cannot be quoted or liked and some people may miss it because it doesn't come at the end of a thread/topic. But it does allow for a brief discussion about someone's post without having to hunt all over the thread for it. It is an option to just turn off this feature.

I think the comments should be made as regular replies. The problem with comments within a post is sometimes you miss them when reading new posts. (or maybe it's just me?)

I voted to eliminate, but I am assuming the quote function still creates a separate reply?

I use it all the time, I would favor keeping it around.

Well now I have to try to "comment " so I can see what all the fuss is about:-)

i think it is nice when you start a post, then someone replies you can quickly comment on their reply to your original post. i like it.

Ok now that I've tried it I get it. I prefer quoting because it's easier to see who is replying to what. When someone just comments, sometimes I have to scroll back to see what they are responding to, especially on long threads.

It is a bit annoying that it truncates the comments

I voted no, comments make the conversation non-linear and you can't be notified of replies to your comments and you can't like comments

You might get a notification, but you do not know where to look.

Yes, I find that very frustrating, scroll and guess, scroll and guess, close tab.

I wonder if it looks different on a laptop vs cellphone? On the cellphone the comment doesn't show directly beneath the post, it just says that you are commenting on X's reply. I do 95% of my forum browsing on my phone.

I think comment section should be part of the normal thread. It gets confusing having comments on comments and often times something gets missed and asked again.

Vote eliminate. If you use the down arrows to get to the newest post, it'll skip all comments.
