Listened to the last podcast and had a question, how do you start investing in hard money loans?  Is it mostly through private equity firms?

You can use a fund or you can select the loans yourself with crowdfunding sites. Or you can do it yourself and skip the middleman, but you'd better learn what you're doing!

I knew a psychologist who did this himself on the side. He lent money to investors at the local real estate investment club. The money was only lent in areas he knew. Think he invested in real estate himself before lending money. Though, he did have a private practice. The hard money lending was a way to grow the money he already had from his business.
