After buying stocks approximately 200 times (16 years x 12 months), I've stopped caring. It's just a chore at this point. Sometimes they go up afterward and sometimes they go down. I usually don't even check for a month or two and at that point I'm doing it again anyway. If they went up since I bought I'm happy. If they went down, I'm happy I get to buy at a lower price than the month before. Win-win either way.

Agree. Ive had >$50K STCL YTD and minimal LTCL for TLH. Hopefully stays that way.. if you've held for many years another story

What do you mean worth it? Doesn't cost you much. If it gets worse it gets worse

I did a little TLH yesterday, but nothing crazy. 2k or so worth.

So the poll question might be, is not having enough losses to tax loss harvest during prolonged market drops a better situation than reaping (and resetting with) a tax loss harvest?

my trigger is 3k in an asset class, although as I start to gain more carry over loses (I'm only at 15k right now) the limit to pull the trigger increases.

No. I try to wait for significant moves and prefer 5 figures to 4. Never quite got there because my portfolio has mostly been paring gains, not actually showing losses. Can’t really complain about that!

I TLH some bond funds also. If you hold a long time it is rare to get losses.
