Finally got a piece of the pie!

I earned my Flagship merit badge a few years ago, but haven’t really taken advantage of any services. I did download Turbotax one year because I love free stuff, but I use a CPA so it didn’t do me any good.

It might be fun to get in touch with a CFP and create a financial plan. Why not if it’s free?  ?

While I don’t doubt that has value for some people, I don’t think I’m going to get much value out of it. And it costs my time if nothing else.

My parents went and got their free financial plan. The CFP told them they were doing great and must have a wonderful advisor. ?

If you guys got financial plans from Vanguard it would make a great post describing the process.  I originally read about it on the Finance Buff before I did it.

I have used the CFP to get a financial plan and to ask a couple questions.  No real hand holding just cheap ERs.  I prefer the lower prices rather a mug that says vanguard on it.

Well...12 years with Vanguard and I finally made it- Flagship status. Unfortunately, now that Flagship no longer gets free Turbotax I'm not sure it's going to do me a bit of good.
When you call, you'll speak with an experienced Flagship representative who will act as your guide to all the services we offer our high-net-worth clients. Whenever you're facing a complex situation or change in circumstances, a dedicated representative will coordinate personalized, expert help that's tailored to your needs.

In addition to commission-free Vanguard mutual funds and ETFs (exchange-traded funds), you'll also have access to these important benefits:

    • Financial advice from a Certified Financial Planner™ professional through Vanguard Personal Advisor Services®anytime. Our advisors can help you with specific investment questions or provide ongoing advisory and portfolio management services.

    • Even bigger discounts on your brokerage costs, including 25 commission-free trades for stocks, options, non-Vanguard ETFs, and transaction-fee funds.**

Oh well, I guess it's just a status thing.
