  • Bitcoin is still early

Just checking in and hoping some of you have allocated at least a small portion of your portfolio to Bitcoin. It has started a nice bull run, but has a long ways to go.
This thread is doing well....and it is going to hold up well with time:

So... In the past 2-3 years I have spent a lot of time learning about Bitcoin. In the process, I have actually learned a lot about the market, macro economics, fiat currencies, and history. And although 3 years ago I stated that I would never invest in Bitcoin as it was just a scam/ponzi scheme this was mostly because I

Do yourself a favor and do some reading....and although I was more patient in May with my recommendations....I'm saying to do it more quickly now. Good luck my friends.

Could you answer all of the unanswered questions still pending from the previous thread? And your previous non-answers don't count. You should be much more prepared since you had months to continue your research. I'll be waiting on pins and needles.

Why do you care so much what I invest in?

I might go for the Patek or the 50 year old McAllen before I put any on Bitcoin

Congrats on being an investing genius! I only wish my business and financial acumen were 1% of yours! Your family and friends are fortunate to have been touched by such an astute, perceptive, and soon to be extremely wealthy source of brilliance!

Since you're obviously not here to educate, I hope that helps with your objective in starting this thread.

If you think this post is not educational, you have missed the point.

Bitcoin is constantly dogged by so many people. There is now an unbelievable wealth of information out there on it. I provided some of it in the above thread. There are better teachers than me....learn from the best not from me. The information is available. All you have to do is put in the time. Do your own research.

The reason I care, is that I am a physician who busts his butt just like many of you. I have worked very hard to earn a high net worth. I want to keep my high net worth. I want to grow my net worth. I want to help the many other great physicians/professionals that frequent this site realize that they might be ignoring a very significant asset in their portfolio. These posts are my way of giving back. If I influence even 1 person to learn about Bitcoin and they live a more prosperous life because of it, that is a good thing.

This is why I keep imploring everyone to learn.

Could you point out the educational aspects of the post? A prediction is far from educational. I can already tell this is going to be the same thread that was already closed.

Yeah, and a client just lost a couple hundred thousand dollars on crypto, so what's your point? He sure had the same "feeling" about buying in as you do now. I agree with you that a thread discussing speculation and wagering can have a lot of educational value.

Some people advocate 1% of your portfolio for it which doesn't make much sense to me. Even if it doubles or triples in value, it doesn't move your net worth by much. On the odd chance it 10x from here, even then still doesn't move things very far. Until it has more uses I'm staying on the sidelines as I just see it as speculation.

At least with my TSLA investment/strategy, it has a defined traditional value (even though it's still really overvalued according to most). Once I get more data, especially volatility around/past elections and such, I was planning on making a post about it for hopefully constructive criticism.

Most people on the forums here are bogleheads by nature. As physicians/high earners, a 3 fund portfolio will guarantee success as long as spending isn't out of control. If you have a defined path to good success in life, it's hard to argue for anyone to deviate from that path. Some will deviate for curiosity, promise of better smelling flowers, or a short cut to the end, but a bird in the hard is hard to argue with.
