  • Fund total return

I am currently reviewing various funds that I am invested in, and was comparing the annual total returns. I was wondering if anyone knew if that when companies report this, does this return take into effect their administration/annual fees?

It should say somewhere with an asterix, net of fees or before expenses.

Yes. Reported returns for mutual funds are net of fees and expenses. Federal law to report it that way.

Mutual funds have to report their returns net of fees and expenses. The rules are more flexible for private funds such as real estate funds. We report our total returns net of fees and expenses, but not everyone does. There should be a footnote that tells you how it is calculated.
