Impossible Foods, anyone with a patent on quantifying THC on a breathalyzer, companies doing Crispr, CO2 extractors, seawall builders, and the tree growers that own a patent on the trees that sprout endless barrels of cash to pay for all the free stuff our politicians are promising.

I love impossible burgers. A couple years ago I mentioned that as a private company I’d like to invest in (as a survey thing on twtr) and no one had even an idea who they were.

They were featured on freakonomics podcast a few months ago. Pretty interesting company.

They’re in White Castle. Most popular burger in the store near us. Only thing that brought me there. Was pretty good.

I dont buy individual stocks. Just not worthwhile.

Buying a pharma or disney type company due to a single thing is dangerous if you havent checked to see what the contribution to the overall is. Crestor may have just been a tiny part of overall revenue, just like a single disney movie, they dont move the bottom line.

Ambu. I don’t buy any individual stocks but that’s one I’d buy. Good financials and the only maker of fda approved disposable scopes (dirty scopes are becoming of interest)

Tesla, Uber, and Bitcoin.... (are examples of hot tips).

Otherwise, I’m sitting here wondering how to word my response, and I realize that there is no good way to put what I have to say.   I feel sick now.

    Individual stock tip

Anybody want to share an individual stock tip on the next amazon or google? I don’t plan to invest in it, but I think that it is interesting to hear the tips and see where they end up at. When I was a medical student, one of my professors was involved in the clinical trials to obtain approval for Crestor. He could tell that it was going to be a powerful drug even though the study was blinded and told me to get some astra zeneca stock. I didn’t, having no money, but just began to follow the stock out of curiosity and was surprised how low the rate of returns would have been had I bought the stock, would have been much better with an index if they were around back then. When I was a fellow, one of my co-fellow was freaking out and telling me how he was telling his broker to sell off of his google stock because it was in free fall during the financial crisis. I didn’t know much about stocks then either, but thought he must be more financially literate then me for having a broker. I will confess that I decreased my Roth contributions during the crisis as I got tired of seeing my contributions cut in half by the market but I didn’t sell anything at the time. My parents- in law upgraded a vacation home w proceeds from buying a lot of apple stock pre-I phone and I do remember thinking many years ago how amazon seemed like it was up and coming. Just curious to see if anybody is still ‘gambling’ and has a good tip.
