If you work for an organization large enough to have an HR and/or payroll department, you might want to alert them or the CEO of the company to this clever tax season scam. Hospitals would be ideal targets due to the large concentration of highly-paid employees. An email that supposedly is sent by the CEO asks for an updated list employees, a copy of W2s, or something similar "for review". The correspondence appears to be official and several companies have already been victimized. Read the IRS alert here.
